Welcome to FundData

FundData is focused solely on excelling as the best fund data collection and supply business in the Australian market. Our objective is to become recognised as the Australian industry fund data utility. FundData is not and will not become a research or ratings business, manage money, or a software developer. Rather FundData is and will remain a specialist, independent fund data business - and the only one in Australia that is independent of the activities of its clients and the rest of the market.

FundData is a joint venture established in 2006 between brillient!, and hub service provider, InvestmentLink. FundData is chaired by Peter Philip of InvestmentLink Pty Ltd, managed on a day-to-day basis by senior staff of brillient! Investment Publishing Pty Ltd and operated by a stand-alone specialist team.

brillient! is a boutique investment publishing house established in 2002 and headed by Graham Rich, Publisher, and Deirdre Keown, Managing Editor & Producer. They have, collectively, over thirty five years relevant and successful experience publishing financial information services. brillient! specialises in collaborating with investment managers, researchers, and authors to communicate their often complex content effectively with different specialist groups within the Australia and New Zealand wealth management community. brillient! publications use a unique multi-media mix of print, events, video, audio, email and the web, and are regarded as leaders in their respective fields. Each reflects the attributes of brillient!'s principals - independence, innovation and entrepreneurial flair.

InvestmentLink is the de-facto standard provider of hub services in the Australian financial services industry and is a main driver of straight-through processing (STP) in the managed funds industry. e-Portfolio is a hub-based service that links financial planners, retail fund managers and master funds; and allows dealers and advisers to transact and report on managed funds using a simple web-based application. It is used by over 8,000 financial planners and carries information on over 1.1m client accounts worth over $25 billon. InvestmentLink CEO Peter Philip is Chairman of FundData.

GRAHAM RICH – CEO

Graham is credited as a pioneer of the Australian and New Zealand managed funds industries, and retail managed funds data and research in particular, having commenced his financial services career in 1975. He is the Managing Director of FundData and, separately, Publisher of brillient!

In 1983 he launched the first financial planning firm in New Zealand and over the next 20 years established, built and sold a number of innovative businesses in Australia and New Zealand offering financial advice support services and publications, including fund data, research, magazines, software and training as well as providing strategic planning and marketing services to many more. In the fund data and research sphere, Graham founded and was for 18 years, CEO and publisher of FPG Research, the first retail fund data and ratings company in Australia and New Zealand.

During this time, Graham initiated and introduced numerous fund data and ratings innovations to the marketplace, including the first fund star ratings, and then some years later, changed the company name to Morningstar. Graham grew the company to its peak where, at the time of his departure in 2001, it dominated the retail managed funds data and ratings arena in Australia and New Zealand.

Graham is known for his independence, innovation and commitment.

In 2002, in association with other skilled and experienced colleagues, Graham established brillient! a boutique investment publishing house. brillient! now publishes a number of unique services for a range of financial advisor and institutional audiences including PortfolioConstruction Forum and brillient!Media House Productions in Australia and financialalert in New Zealand.

In 2006, FundData became another of Graham's business commitments, reflecting his view that fund data users are dissatisfied with alternative services.

DEIRDRE KEOWN – Head of Operations

Deirdre is responsible for the day-to-day management of FundData. In this role, she has overall responsibility for the data collection, management, distribution and client service aspects of the business, including management of the Databank operations team, as well as ongoing development of FundData's products and services.

Deirdre has worked in the Australian and New Zealand wealth management industries since 1993. Following two years as a marketing analyst with a New Zealand funds management company, Deirdre began working with Fiduciary Ltd, a New Zealand-based provider of a range of services to the financial advisory industry. Her role included participating in and then leading the marketing services team for Fiduciary's fund data and ratings research, training, software and magazine businesses. From 1997 to 2001, Deirdre was Head of Publishing first at FPG Research and then at the same business when it became Australian-based in 1999 and known as Morningstar Australia and New Zealand. In this role, she was responsible for fund data and ratings product development, management, distribution, and subscriber training, along with publication, public relations, and subscriber communications in Australia and New Zealand.
